Movement Practice

Dance is an art form, movement is a life form. And it is accessible to us all. When we empower our body to take the reins and lead our movements, we release our mind and free our heart.

Since the beginning, free-form movement has been a route to ecstasy for human beings. Ancient Greeks, Sufis and shamans the world over have used music and dance as paths to gain deeper insights to the world without and within. Ecstasy, from the Ancient Greek ἔκστασις ékstasis, is not some high order state reserved only for ascetics. It is for you and me.

Our practice is inspired by these traditional forms, by modern interpretations such as 5Rhythms, and most of all by nature and our deep connection with it. Our ability to open the channels to ecstasy lies in the simple act of breath, inspiring the movement of a finger or toe.

The benefits of regular communication with the body through movement deepens with practice. We offer one off classes and series workshops. Movement practice forms a major part of our retreats.

Dances with Wolves

1st - 30th March 2021. On zoom.

Monday nights 1st March- 15th March, then Tuesday 23rd and 30th February

6.30-8pm

£60

This is a time for you - to dance, and be close to yourself, with a small group of others doing the same.

Allowing music, the elements and our feet to guide us, we’ll venture on unexplored paths and maybe, along the way, discover a new way of being with ourselves.

Simply being with the body - skin, bone, sweat, breath and heartbeat - is enough.

We will hold space for a small, closed group, where we can relax, let go and dance together. Each week we will connect to one of the core elements through music - earth, fire, air, water and ether.

We’ll light candles, set our intentions, and move together for an hour or so, with the support of the music.

We hope you can join us and want to make this as accessible and affordable as possible. If you can pay the full price of £60, we really appreciate it. If you can’t, please pay something between £40-£60.
